Yes the Country Mall at Banilad Road in Cebu is one of the first that there were and there are certainly some good things to be said about this location or rather about some of the stores and shops there, but this entry is focusing on the Country Mall itself and as one of the older addresses in town it seems that this institution has missed the call. Why the competition like Ayala and SM are clearly adapting to the New Cebu – Country Mall is likely to become a once been place just like the old streets in Colone that are a pain to visit.
Just like Colone the Country Mall is filthy and stinks to high heaven – the cockroaches infestation is so outrageous that they are Omni present during opening hours climbing over food on display in broad daylight.
The whole Place has more of a market place then a Mall and this feeling of filth and law quality is only topped by the exceptional rudeness of most of the service and sales personal there.

If you are waiting for a greeting or a thank you from the cashiers or at least a friendly hello you might as well till hell freezes over and the security at the main entrance will most likely over look you or best case scenario yell - I am referring to the Supermarket.  The stanch of old and wasted food in the vegtables section is so strong it is hard to walk through yet to invite a shopper to purchase!

I do my regular trips to Country Mall for some of the stores there are worth it as mentioned earlier but what a pity to get such a location go to waste if all that it would take is some training, a bit of hygiene and maybe a pint of paint or two to make Country Mall all over a pleasant experience again!
